BookCamp
BookCamp
Create a photo story book you’ll be proud to share — even if you’ve never done anything like this before.
A small-group creative studio where four participants create a finished book in just two weeks.
“ I didn’t know I could create something so good.”
Turn photos and memories into something meaningful
Many people arrive at BookCamp saying the same thing:
“I’ve been meaning to do this for years.”
They have boxes of photos, travel memories, or family stories they want to preserve — but they aren’t sure where to begin.
BookCamp provides the structure, guidance, and encouragement to turn those photos and memories into a beautiful book you’ll be proud to share.
What makes BookCamp special
BookCamp isn’t a lecture or a typical class.
It’s a small creative studio experience where four people work side-by-side designing their books.
Something special happens when people create together. The supportive energy in the room makes it far easier to complete a meaningful project than working alone.
By the end of BookCamp, participants have designed a book they are excited to order and share.
What participants create
Participants create books such as:
• travel story books
• family history books
• tribute books for parents or grandparents
• milestone celebrations
• books capturing a year or season of life
Each book reflects the unique story its creator wants to tell.
What you will learn
During BookCamp you will learn how to:
• clarify the story you want your book to tell
• choose and sequence photos to support that story
• design clean, professional-looking pages
• avoid common photo book mistakes
• complete a book you’ll be proud to share
Participants create their books using their own online account and gain skills they can use to create many more books in the future.
The BookCamp format
BookCamp meets in person at Pixorium’s Virginia-Highland studio.
The program includes:
• four two-hour sessions over two weeks
• time between sessions to work on your book
• guidance and feedback throughout the process
• a supportive creative environment
Because the experience is intentionally personal,
BookCamp is limited to four participants.
Participants bring their laptop to each session.
To be successful, you’ll need time before BookCamp to gather photos and stories and time between sessions to continue building your book.
Tuition
BookCamp tuition covers the studio sessions and instruction.
Spring 2026 BookCamp tuition: $500
(Beginning Fall 2026, tuition will be $750 as BookCamp continues to evolve its unique, limited studio experience.)
Participants will order their finished book directly from the digital photobook producer.
Most books cost approximately $120 including shipping, depending on options.
Additional support
Some participants want additional support while working on their books. Pixorium offers for an additional fee:
• photo scanning services if materials are not yet digital
• optional one-on-one coaching between sessions

Is BookCamp right for you?
BookCamp is ideal for people who:
• have photos and stories they want to preserve
• want guidance creating a beautiful book
• enjoy learning in a small supportive group
• are ready to complete something meaningful
You do not need to be a designer or writer.
Many participants begin BookCamp convinced they are “not creative.” With the right structure and encouragement, they discover they can create something meaningful and beautiful.
